Zurich Portrait Prize

Zurich Portrait Prize

V excited to be attending the Zurich Portrait Prize in the National Gallery of Ireland in Merrion Square tonight.

“Yes” is one of 24 other awesome pieces of art. Honored to be included in the shortlisting.

Yes is a self portrait and its bodyart depicts my slant on the republics abortion referendum, I wanted to reflect

some female positivity with references to Mary Robinson’s ‘Mna na H’Eireann’, Dublin’s Lady Justice who is uncharacteristically not blindfolded and the swallows escaping from their cage and flying free.

‘Yes’ is a sister piece to ‘No’ which reflects my feelings about the opposite side of the debate, the atmosphere of conservative patriarchy in Ulster!

Look I am sharing the cover of the Sunday Times Magazine with Julia Roberts – top right corner whoop whoop

Appreciate the mention in The Irish News by Jenny Lee,by Christin Leach in the Sunday Times and by Mandy O’Neill in the Times
